James Lee Foundation Scholarship

The scholarship is open to emerging creative talent from across Canada wanting to enter into the advertising industry. Entrants must be non-professional Canadian residents over the age of 16. All fields of creativity related to the advertising community will be considered. ( eg. writers, art directors, film makers, recording artists, illustrators, digital artists, etc. )

Ethel Boyce Achievement Award
Due date: September 15, 2017

The award is administered by Softball Canada and is given annually awarded to a female and male recipient. It is expected that the award winners will have exhibited leadership traits and skills in softball. Both recipients receive $1,000. The award is meant to help defray the costs of education and/or playing softball. Manitoba House Building Foundations Bursary
Due date: September 30, 2017
Value: $1 000
Manitoba Housing's bursary fund provides nine $1,000 bursaries to post-secondary students living in subsidized rental housing in Manitoba or receiving a rental subsidy funded by Manitoba Housing.

Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre Inc.: Harold Hirose Education Fund
Due Date: September 30, 2017
Value: $1 500
Each year JCAM will offer scholarship(s) up to a total amount of $1,500 to the successful candidate. The Selection Committee may award up to two scholarships in the amount of $750 instead of a single scholarship if there are two applicants which are superior to all others and are both equally qualified to be awarded the scholarship.
Any person who is enrolled at a post secondary institution, resides in Manitoba and who is of Japanese ancestry or who is a member of the Japanese community in Manitoba.

For students enrolling in their first year of studies at the University of Manitoba in engineering (electrical, civil, or mechanical), or a member of the Engineering Access Program (ENGAP);

AES Engineers Scholarship

Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

Award: 25 prizes of $1,000 - $5,000
This award is given to full time grade 12 students enrolled in a Canadian high school.
Applicants must write an original essay (900 – 1000 words) describing the dumbest thing you’ve done with your money and what you learned from it. The essay must meet all of the requirements outlined on the website.

Loran Award: Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation
Due Date: For sponsored applicants: October 18, 2017

Award: Renewal for up to four years, with a total value of $100 000
This scholarship is for Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents who are graduating from their final year of high school. They must have a minumum average of 85% and they must demonstrate outstanding character, service and leadership.

Horatio-Alger Association of Canada Scholarship
