The Manitoba Council for Exceptional Children Academic Scholarship
Due Date: January 19, 2018
Award Amount: 2 x $750
There are two scholarships worth $750.00 each available to support grade 12 or returning university students from Manitoba who are pursuing a career directly related to working with persons with exceptionalities. The individuals must be entering or in a current full time education program in a Canadian institution. The scholarship money will be given directly to the recipient upon verification of enrollment.
Two scholarships are available to students with exceptional needs who are transitioning from high school to post-school life, such as post-secondary education, job training or employment. The winning student must demonstrate a ‘Yes I Can’ attitude. The scholarship money is given directly to the student upon verification of enrolment (if pursuing post-secondary education) or other appropriate evidence of their post-school plan.
The Metro Winnipeg Council for Exceptional Children offers two scholarships worth $500.00 each to support special needs students from Manitoba. The individuals must be entering or in the first year of a current full time education or training program in a Post Secondary Canadian institution (Community College, University, Campus Life, etc.). The scholarship money will be given directly to the recipient upon verification of enrollment. The application deadline is March 18, 2016. Please click here for an application form.

Terry Fox Humanitarian Award
Due Date: February 1, 2018
Award Amount: $7,000 per year
Students are eligible to receive the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award until they have received their first university degree (for a maximum of four years), provided they have maintained a standard of humanitarian work and high academic standing. Students must maintain a satisfactory academic standing and continued involvement in voluntary humanitarian and community work.
- Graduating secondary level students and those currently studying towards a first university degree or diploma in a Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Involvement in voluntary humanitarian work.
- Maintain a satisfactory academic standing and continued involvement in voluntary humanitarian and community work.
Recipients are selected for:
- dedication to the humanitarian ideals of Terry Fox
- volunteer experience
- courage in overcoming obstacles
- participation in sport, fitness and community service
- high academic standing
Kin Canada Bursaries
Due Date: February 1, 2018
Award Amount: $1 000
Kin Canada Bursaries is a program of the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund, supported by Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin clubs, and public donations, across the country. Each year, $1,000 bursaries are awarded to successful Canadian applicants who are pursuing post-secondary education at a recognized university, community college, technical institute and other schools for advanced education.
Applicants will be evaluated on their community and school involvement, knowledge of Kin Canada and financial need.

The Gerrie Hammond Memorial Award of Promise
Due Date: February, 2018
Award Amount: $2 000
This award will be made to a young woman, enrolled in a school within the Winnipeg City limits, who will be graduating from Grade 12 in 2016. She has made a significant contribution to her school and community, has demonstrated scholastic achievement and shows promise of becoming a Woman of Distinction. She should be a role model for other young women.

The United Way: Youth Leaders in Action Scholarship
Due Date: February 13, 2018
Award Amount: $500
Youth Leaders in Action Scholarships recognize and celebrate young community leaders who are making a difference in the lives of others. Four awards of $500 will be granted in 2017. Recipients will be students who are connected with United Way-funded organizations as participants, volunteers or staff members.

Nellie McLung Trailblazer Scholarship

Amount: 5 x $1 000
The Manitoba Government and the Nellie McClung Foundation present the Nellie McClung Trailblazer Scholarships. These awards are for female students considering careers in the exciting fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), business or underrepresented trades. Careers in these areas offer excellent job opportunities, great earning potential and stimulating work environments.

RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship

Schulich Leaders Scholarships

Award Amount: 25 scholarships of $100 000 for students pursuing Engineering

The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Scholarship
Due Date: March 31, 2018
Award Amount: 3 awards of $1 000
The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Scholarship Program was established in 2002. This Program is supported by donations of the members of the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA) and by the generous contributions from the Algar family and Doreen Laszlo (spouse of Dr. Charles Laszlo). Applicants to this Scholarship Program must be either hard of hearing, deafened or oral deaf. Eligible applicants may be first-time or returning post-secondary students at a recognized College or University. Students should be registered in or planning to register for a full-time program as of September 2017.

Ken Dryden Youth In Care Scholarship

Award Amount: $ 3000
Ken Dryden Scholarships are awarded to select young people, currently or formerly in the care of the Canadian child welfare system, who demonstrate great achievement and promise. Each scholarship covers up to $3,000 or 80% of the cost of tuition and fees, whichever is less, and is renewable annually.

Retail as a Career Scholarship Program

Award Amount: $1 000 - $5 000
The Retail Council of Canada is offering 22 scholarships available this year – one $5000 Interac Scholarship, one $3000 Canadian Retail Hall of Fame Scholarship and twenty $1000 Industry-Sponsored Scholarships. Students must be enrolled full-time or part-time at a Canadian college or university Fall 2017. They must be pursuing a retail, business or marketing-related program and currently working part-time or full-time within the retail industry .

Business Council of Manitoba Aboriginal Education Award
Due Date: March 31, 2018
Award Amount: $2 000 - 3 000
Awards are available to persons of Aboriginal ancestry who are Canadian citizens and Manitoba residents who are presently enrolled or planning to enroll in a Manitoba public post-secondary institution in any program. You must maintain full-time status (60% or more course load) and be in need of financial assistance. Awards for college students are valued at $2000.00 (awards for students enrolled in degree programs, i.e. Nursing are $3000) and applicants are eligible to reapply each year of their studies. Recipients may be considered for summer and part-time employment with one of the Business Council’s member companies.

University of Manitoba Agriculture and Food Science Centennial Entrance Scholarships

The University of Manitoba and Manitoba Agriculture are offering 11 ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS valued at $2,000, to high school students with an interest in pursuing a degree or diploma in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at the University of Manitoba, and who:

Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) High School Scholarships

Amount: 10 x $1 000
The CPA Manitoba Foundation is pleased to be awarding the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) High School Scholarships to graduating high school students in Manitoba. Up to thirteen scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded, including up to six awards specifically for students from rural Manitoba.
We are looking for well-rounded students who meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 student who will be attending one of Manitoba’s universities. Students planning to enter a community college or a university outside of Manitoba are not eligible, unless the student plans to bridge from college to a Manitoba university.
- Overall average of 80% in Grades 10 to 12 (based on the most current available information).
- Has an interest in pursuing a career in accounting or business.
- Is involved in school and community activities.
- Has strong communications skills.
